Malaysia's DiGi regrets loss of Wimax opportunity

Malaysia's smallest mobile phone operator DiGi.Com said on Friday it regretted losing its bid for a licence to operate wireless broadband Wimax services.

But the decision would have no impact of the company's core business, it said, adding "We will continue to pursue our strategy to give our customers a continually richer communications experience."

The four licence winners Malaysia announced on Friday are Bizsurf, a unit of YTL E-Solutions , an investor in young technology businesses; MIB Comm, a unit of telecoms software maker Green Packet Bhd,telecoms service provider Redtone International , and infrastructure maker Asiaspace Dotcom.
